A group of 20 students from the University of Stuttgart in Germany has set a new Guinness World Record for the world\u2019s fastest-accelerating electric vehicle.<\/p>\n

The self-built prototype, designed and constructed by Greenteam, achieved 0-62mph in a staggering 1.461sec, beating\u00a0the previous record of 1.513sec, which was set by a team in Switzerland in 2016.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s 0.5sec faster than the\u00a0Pininfarina Battista<\/a>, 0.6sec faster than the\u00a0Ariel Hipercar<\/a>\u00a0and 0.9sec faster than the\u00a0Tesla Model S Plaid<\/a>. It\u2019s also nearly a full second faster than the 2.4sec achieved by the\u00a0Bugatti Chiron<\/a>.<\/p>\n
