Shares of GE dropped 20%,\u00a0reflecting the parent company\u2019s shrunken size.<\/p>\n<p>GE HealthCare CEO Peter Arduini\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gehealthcare.com\/about\/newsroom\/press-releases\/ge-healthcare-completes-spin-off-and-begins-trading-on-nasdaq\">praised<\/a>\u00a0the spinoff as a new chapter for the business as it follows a precision care strategy focused on analyzing patient data to provide more precise care.<\/p>\n<p>In early December, GE\u2019s board of directors approved the divestiture. It includes GE\u2019s imaging, ultrasound, patient care solutions and pharmaceutical diagnostics businesses. The firm has about 51,000 employees across more than 160 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The company expects its business will grow by integrating patient data from imaging, lab, pathology, and genomics, and using AI to deliver insights for clinicians.
