{"id":19548,"date":"2025-02-11T09:58:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T01:58:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/en\/?p=19548"},"modified":"2025-02-11T09:58:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-11T01:58:04","slug":"tesla-shanghai-megafactory-to-kick-off-megapack-production-february-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/en\/tesla-shanghai-megafactory-to-kick-off-megapack-production-february-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla Shanghai Megafactory to kick off Megapack production February 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>February 5, 2025<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19546\" src=\"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-02-11_095346-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-02-11_095346-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-02-11_095346-450x267.jpg 450w, https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-02-11_095346.jpg 561w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Tesla is set to start production at its Shanghai Megafactory on February 11.\u00a0The update was shared in a report from\u00a0<em>Shanghai Securities News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Shanghai Megafactory broke ground on May 2024 and it was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-shanghai-megafactory-nears-completion-end-of-2024-report\/\">completed by the end of December<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The speed of the Shanghai Megafactory\u2019s construction has been dubbed \u201cTesla Speed\u201d for its rapid construction.<\/li>\n<li>Following its construction phase,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teslarati.com\/tesla-trial-production-shanghai-megafactory\/\">trial production started<\/a>\u00a0at the end of 2024, with mass production slated for early 2025.<\/li>\n<li>The facility, which completed construction in just seven months, is Tesla\u2019s first energy storage facility outside the United States.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Production Details:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>As per a\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/cnevpost.com\/2025\/02\/05\/tesla-megafactory-shanghai-production-start-feb-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNEV Post<\/a><\/em>\u00a0report, a ceremony will be held to celebrate the official start of production at the Shanghai Megafactory.<\/li>\n<li>The Megafactory is expected to have an annual output of 10,000 Megapacks, equating to nearly 40 GWh of energy storage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Location and Products:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Shanghai Megafactory is located in the Lingang district of Pudong, Shanghai, next to Tesla\u2019s existing Gigafactory Shanghai facility.<\/li>\n<li>The Shanghai Megafactory will produce the Megapack, a commercial energy storage battery that\u2019s designed to stabilize the grid and prevent outages.<\/li>\n<li>Each Megapack can store over 3 MWh of energy, which is enough to power about 3,600 homes for an hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>What they\u2019re saying:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Shanghai Megafactory was highlighted during Tesla\u2019s Q4 2024 earnings call.<\/li>\n<li>As per Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Vaibhav Taneja, Tesla Energy\u2019s growth is due to the Megapack and Powerwall.<\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cLike Elon mentioned, we\u2019re trying to ramp up production with Megafactory Shanghai coming online this quarter onwards.
