{"id":19804,"date":"2025-03-25T10:06:12","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T02:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/en\/?p=19804"},"modified":"2025-03-25T10:06:12","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T02:06:12","slug":"byd-unveils-new-super-charging-ev-tech-to-build-charging-network-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/en\/byd-unveils-new-super-charging-ev-tech-to-build-charging-network-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"BYD unveils new super-charging EV tech, to build charging network in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mar 17 2025<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19805\" src=\"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/2025-03-25_100427-300x167.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/2025-03-25_100427-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/battery9999.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/2025-03-25_100427.jpg 538w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-1\" class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\">BYD<span id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><\/button><\/span><\/span>on Monday unveiled a new platform for electric vehicles (EVs) that it said could charge EVs as quickly as it takes to pump gas and announced for the first time that it would build a charging network across China.<\/p>\n<p>The so-called \u201csuper e-platform\u201d will be capable of peak charging speeds of 1,000 kilowatts (kW), enabling cars that use it to travel 400 km (249 miles) on a 5-minute charge, founder Wang Chuanfu said at an event livestreamed from the company\u2019s Shenzhen headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Charging speeds of 1,000 kW would be twice as fast as\u00a0<span id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-2\" class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/TSLA\/\">Tesla<\/a><span id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><\/button><\/span><\/span>\u2019s\u00a0superchargers whose latest version offers up to 500 kw charging speeds. Fast-charging technology has been key to increasing EV adoption as it is seen to help assure EV drivers\u2019 concerns over being able to charge their cars quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order to completely solve our user\u2019s charging anxiety, we have been pursuing a goal to make the charging time of electric vehicles as short as the refueling time of petrol vehicles,\u201d Wang said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time in the industry that the unit of megawatt (charge) has been achieved on charging power,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The new charging architecture will be initially available in two new EVs &#8211; Han L sedan and Tang L SUV priced from 270,000 yuan ($37,328.91) and BYD said it would build over 4,000 ultra-fast charging piles, or units, across China to match the new platform.<\/p>\n<p>The company didn\u2019t specify the time frame or how much it would invest in building such facilities.
