En rempla\u00e7ant le lithium contenu dans les batteries traditionnelles par de l\u2019aluminium, la dur\u00e9e de recharge sera divis\u00e9e par dix.<\/p>\n<p>La firme australienne a en effet indiqu\u00e9 \u00eatre parvenue \u00e0 mettre au point des prototypes de batteries aluminium-ion qui se rechargent particuli\u00e8rement vite par rapport aux actuelles batteries au lithium-ion, mais ce n\u2019est pas leur seul avantage. Le nouveau type de batterie disposerait d\u2019une dur\u00e9e de vie plus longue et ne pr\u00e9senterait pas de probl\u00e8me de surchauffe.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019apr\u00e8s les tests r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par des scientifiques de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aibn.uq.edu.au\/article\/2021\/04\/uq-technology-powers-greener-alternative-lithium-ion-brisbane-manufacturing-deal\"><strong>l\u2019Institut australien de bio-ing\u00e9nierie et de nanotechnologie<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Queensland qui ont contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement de la nouvelle batterie, les performances de cette derni\u00e8re seraient plut\u00f4t impressionnantes.<\/p>\n<p>La densit\u00e9 de puissance de la batterie \u2013 soit la rapidit\u00e9 \u00e0 laquelle la cellule se charge et se d\u00e9charge \u2013 serait d\u2019environ 7.000 W\/kg, soit plus de 10 fois sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la densit\u00e9 de puissance des batteries actuelles qui se situe entre 250 et 7000 W\/kg.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Une autonomie moindre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ce nouveau type de cellule pr\u00e9senterait tout de m\u00eame un d\u00e9faut au niveau de sa densit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Elle ne pourrait embarquer que 60% d\u2019\u00e9nergie par rapport aux batteries actuelles de m\u00eame poids ce qui n\u2019en fait pas forc\u00e9ment une alternative int\u00e9ressante pour le secteur des voitures automobiles.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, le fait qu\u2019elle puisse \u00eatre recharg\u00e9e 10 fois plus rapidement que les batteries actuelles pourrait en quelque sorte pallier le probl\u00e8me d\u2019autonomie. D\u2019ailleurs, puisque les batteries aluminium-ion ne surchauffent pas, pas besoin d\u2019embarquer un syst\u00e8me de refroidissement. De quoi gagner de la place dans les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques et embarquer une batterie aluminium-ion plus grande et ainsi disposer d\u2019une autonomie plus importante.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Un smartphone recharg\u00e9 en moins de 5 minutes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pour ce qui est des smartphones, les avantages de ce type de batteries semblent particuli\u00e8rement nombreux. En plus d\u2019\u00eatre plus sure et plus \u00e9cologie puisque recyclable, la batterie aluminium-ion d\u2019un smartphone pourrait \u00eatre recharg\u00e9e en moins de 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Si les premiers r\u00e9sultats du prototype de la firme australienne sont impressionnants et prometteurs, il ne faut pas s\u2019attendre \u00e0 voir des appareils \u00e9quip\u00e9s d\u2019une batterie aluminium-ion dans un avenir proche.
